Bardstown CEO Visits Bin 110

Bardstown bourbon company CEO Mark Erwin Visits Bin110 in Cornelius, NC

A tasting to remember!

6-Whiskey Tasting, led by Bardstown Bourbon Co. CEO Mark Erwin!

Looking back at the standout moments of 2025 at Bin 110, our January 2025 tasting with Mark Erwin, President and CEO of Bardstown Bourbon Company, remains a highlight. It wasn't just a tasting; it was a celebration of a long-standing partnership with one of the leading distillers in the industry.

Mark and his wife traveled to the Lake Norman area specifically to support Andy and Bin 110. As Mark shared with the crowd, the two have been friends for years with Bin110 being a "day one supporter of Bardstown.” Andy has curated one of the most extensive Bardstown collections in North Carolina, and has been instrumental in introducing their innovative blends to our local enthusiasts.

The Flight: Six Expressions of Innovation

The night featured a curated journey through the Bardstown portfolio. We explored the boundaries of what bourbon can be with six distinct pours:

  • Collaborative Series – Silver Oak: A stunning marriage of Kentucky bourbon finished in legendary Silver Oak cabernet sauvignon barrels.

  • Collaborative Series – Amrut: An adventurous blend finished in Indian Single Malt casks, offering a unique global profile.

  • Discovery Series #10, #11, & #12: A rare side-by-side-by-side tasting of the last 3 Discovery releases, showcasing the distillery’s mastery of blending aged stocks from across the country.

  • West Virginia Great Barrel Co. Rye: A standout rye finished in specialty barrels specifically constructed for Bardstown Bourbon Co., with alternating staves of Cherry and Oak, then infrared-toasted.

A Conversation with a Leader

After the tasting, the room settled in for a rare opportunity to hear directly from Mark. He spoke about the rapid evolution of Bardstown Bourbon Company—from their state-of-the-art distillery in Kentucky to their "transparency-first" approach to blending.

The Q&A session allowed our guests to go "behind the curtain" of the bourbon industry, discussing the craft, the future of the brand, and the importance of the relationship between the distillery and the bars like Bin 110 that champion their work.
