Can you find the Opus?

Join us at Bin110 for a wine tasting built around one simple challenge: four exceptional Napa Cabernet Sauvignons will be poured completely blind, and one of them will be the newly released 2023 Opus One.

You’ll know Opus One is somewhere in the lineup.

You just won’t know which glass it is.

Taste all four wines side by side, compare them, trust your palate, and make your pick. At the end of the tasting, we’ll reveal the identities of all four wines and find out who successfully found the Opus.

Each wine will also be paired with artisan chocolates from Cassinelli Chocolates, selected to complement the tasting and add another dimension to the experience.

Why Opus One?

Few wines occupy quite the same place in Napa Valley history.

Opus One was founded in 1979 through the partnership of two legendary wine figures: Napa Valley pioneer Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, proprietor of Bordeaux’s Château Mouton Rothschild. Their vision was to bring together the winemaking traditions of Bordeaux and Napa Valley in the creation of a singular estate wine.

The collaboration became one of the highest-profile early bridges between Bordeaux and Napa, helping establish the idea that a California Cabernet-based wine could compete on the international fine-wine stage. Today, Opus One remains one of Napa Valley’s most internationally recognized and collectible wines.

For this tasting, we’ll be featuring the newly released 2023 vintage of Opus One. The 2023 growing season was long and moderate, producing a wine noted for freshness, balance and elegance. The wine was aged for 19 months in French oak.
